North York General first hospital in Ontario recognized with ‘Using Blood Wisely’

Choosing Wisely Canada and the Canadian Blood Services have designated North York General as Ontario’s first Using Blood Wisely Hospital.  This national achievement acknowledges our commitment to red blood cell stewardship and quality improvement. 

This national recognition showcases NYGH’s leadership and ongoing responsibility towards conserving Canada’s national blood supply. Now more than ever , we have come to understand that appropriate use of finite resources, including the supply of blood, is an essential part of safe and high-quality care.
