North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic
North York General Hospital (NYGH) has expanded services at the North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic (formerly the Branson COVID Assessment Centre at the Finch site) to provide assessment and testing for people showing symptoms related to COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses (such as cough and earache).
In addition to testing for COVID-19, the clinic will provide assessment for other common respiratory illnesses. If a patient has symptoms outside the scope of the clinic or requires further testing, they will be advised to follow up with their family doctor or be redirected to the emergency department if necessary. Prescriptions for some medications may also be given if deemed necessary.
“The expansion of services at our North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic is especially important as we head into cold and flu season,” says Milijana Buzanin, Clinical Team Manager for the Test Clinic. “By offering our community these additional services and supports we will ensure those in need can access timely care COVID testing in the right place.”
Since opening in March 2020, the COVID Assessment Centre has conducted more than 200,000 COVID tests. The clinic has also expanded its hours (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to better accommodate those living in the community where many same-day appointments can be booked.

The North York Cough, Cold and COVID Test Clinic is for those who are not in distress or need emergency care. If you are experiencing the following symptoms, please go to your nearest emergency department:
- Difficulty breathing
- New disorientation, confusion, or decrease in level of consciousness
- Fever lasting over 4 days
- Chest pain/pressure
- Continuous vomiting and/or dehydration
