New information related to COVID-19 - At North York General Hospital, your health and safety are our priority as a research participant.  We are promoting social distancing to prevent and slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.  We are carefully considering what this means for your research participation and have developed an FAQ to help answer your questions.  Please contact your research coordinator and/or study doctor with any additional questions.  As the situation could change over time, please also consult the NYGH website COVID-19 page for up-to-date information. 


The North York General Hospital Research Ethics Board (REB) works with investigators to ensure that all research involving human participants or human materials conducted within and on behalf of North York General meets the current scientific and ethical standards of safety, confidentiality and quality to protect research participants.

The REB adheres to diverse national and international key ethical documents and guidelines such as the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2); the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH): Good Clinical Practices (GCP); and the Personal Health Information and Protection Act (PHIPA) Ontario.
