Speech-Language Pathology

Profession

Speech-Language Pathology — Inpatient

Speech-language pathologists are regulated health care professionals who identify, assess and treat adult inpatients presenting with swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive-communication and voice disorders.

Speech-language pathologists work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage referrals and caseload, ensuring efficient service delivery and discharge planning. Our team of four speech-language pathologists provides services to all inpatient medical and surgical programs. The speech-language pathologists are also part of the SATT (Stroke Assessment Treatment Team). This interdisciplinary team is available seven days per week and provides rapid assessment and treatment for acute stroke patients according to best practice stroke care guidelines.
