The Spiritual and Religious Care Department helps patients and their loved ones access their unique inner strengths to achieve inner peace, discover meaning and purpose, and to find healing and hope, especially during times of grief and when fear or uncertainty seems overwhelming.

Our services

Spiritual well-being is a component of good health, and is a necessity in the health care setting. Our team meets with the Spiritual and Religious Care Advisory Committee to ensure we offer the best services to patients and their families of various faith traditions. We offer 24/7 on-call services.

Our services include:

  • prayer
  • worship services including memorial services
  • special religious holiday services
  • baby blessings
  • a fetal burial program
  • religious objects and scriptures
  • meditation
  • spiritual art practices
  • holistic energy practices
  • spiritual direction
  • links to faith traditions in the community
  • bedside visiting by regular volunteer spiritual care visitors
  • Sunday Christian worship
  • hymn singing and spirituality themed groups during the week and a Communion service twice a month, at our Seniors' Health Centre
