What Is Scholarly Work?
There are many definitions of scholarly work, but most would agree the activity or work includes elements of the following:
- requires a high level of expertise
- breaks new ground or is innovative
- can be replicated or elaborated
- can be documented or disseminated
- can be peer reviewed
- has significance or impact
