As part of the Teaching & Learning Week celebrations in June 2016, the Centre for Education
at North York General Hospital (NYGH) held an open house of their new Teaching Pods on 8 North.
There are four teaching rooms on the 8th floor, including one room with a one-way mirror to observe learning activities. All rooms are equipped with practice patient room equipment, as well as two surveillance cameras that relay activity to a control room. Learners and teachers can then review lessons learned and discuss strengths and growth opportunities together. To date, the rooms have hosted everything from mock codes to student exams.
The new Teaching Pods are part of the hospital's commitment to advance our care through teaching and learning
at North York General. They are open to all NYGH learners and teachers for educational opportunities and are booked and managed through the Centre for Education
