With our People and Culture foundation we are advancing our journey towards a patient- and family-centred culture, supporting our commitment as a learning organization, and enhancing service across the hospital, this foundation will concentrate on the following areas:

Advance the organization culture

  • Implement Joy at Work initiatives in all programs across the hospital and Senior's Health Centre to enforce positive organizational culture.
  • Train staff across all hospital sites on workplace violence prevention with specific focus on effective and compassionate tactics to address aggressive behaviours thereby reducing violent incidents with patients.

Enhance and spread our approach to Patient- and Family-Centred Care
 
  • Implement patient-and family-centred strategy across the hospital to advance knowledge, embed patient perspective, and strengthen and support accountability to deliver engaged care.
  • Improve design for signage and develop standard nomenclature across North York General Hospital to support patient, staff and physician navigation.
