NYGH first Canadian breast cancer program to receive prestigious accreditation
North York General Hospital's (NYGH) breast cancer care program, which includes the BMO Financial Group Breast Diagnostic Centre, is the first comprehensive breast cancer care program in Canada to receive full accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Jeremy Theal has been recognized by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for improving patient care at North York General Hospital (NYGH) and improving the quality and safety of care of patients across the province and the country.

North York General first hospital in GTA to provide radioactive seed localization
Today, surgeons at North York General Hospital (NYGH) removed a patient's abnormal breast tissue with the aid of a radioactive seed. “At North York General we pursue excellence in everything we do, and that includes providing our patients with the latest innovations in care, like radioactive seed localization,” says Tim Rutledge, President and CEO, North York General Hospital.
