Visiting a Patient

North York General Hospital's visiting guidelines strive to reflect our objective to provide patients and families with an outstanding experience.

We encourage family and friends to visit during the healing process of our patients.

As a general guideline, visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Two (2) designated primary support people per patient are permitted between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Some exceptions apply however — please check with staff on the unit.

If you have any questions about visiting our hospital, please contact the patient care nursing station on the unit and we will be pleased to assist you.
For most telephone numbers, access our Contact Us section.
Visitor Self-Screening
  • Visitors who are not feeling well should not visit the hospital.
  • When visitors arrive at the hospital, they should self-screen — follow the directives posted on the sign in the lobby entrance.
  • Visitors should sanitize their hands for 15 seconds when they enter and leave the hospital.
