Educational/Support Group for Family Members of Youth and Young Adults Affected by Substance Use Issues
This eight-week educational/ support group is offered by the Transitional Aged Youth Substance Use Program (16-24 years of age), part of North York General Hospital's Mental Health Program.
Learning about the addiction process and how substance use affects the whole family
Understanding adolescent and family development and effective parenting strategies, including limit-setting, communication and coping skills
Recognizing factors that may be associated with adolescent/young adult substance use (e.g. underlying mental health issues)
Becoming aware of the community resources available
